A short guide for both sides of the page — finding work, placing a notice, and getting the most from the county’s job paper.

For Job Seekers

How do I find a job?
Open Job Vacancies to see every current opening in the county. Search by role, employer or town, or tap a sector to narrow the field. Browse the vacancies
How do I apply?
Open a vacancy to read it in full. Apply straight to the employer using their own link or email, or sign in, upload your CV once, and apply here in a single tap.
Do I need an account?
Only if you want to apply with a saved CV. Browsing and applying through an employer’s own link need no account; to keep a CV on file and apply in a tap, sign in and choose “looking for work”. Upload your CV
How do I track my applications?
Sign in and open your account. The CV & Applications tab lists every role you’ve applied for through the Directory, each showing where it stands and the date the employer last moved it on. See your applications
What do the application statuses mean?
As an employer works through their applicants, your notice moves along: Application received, then Under review, Shortlisted or Invited to interview, and finally Successful — offer made or Not selected this time. Only the employer can change it, and you’ll see the newest standing on your account.
Can I withdraw an application?
Yes. Open the CV & Applications tab on your account and withdraw any application you’ve had second thoughts about — the employer no longer sees it in their list. Manage your applications
Can I save a job for later?
Tap the star on any vacancy to keep it. Your saved notices gather under the Saved jobs tab on your account, ready to return to or apply for when you’re set. Go to your account
Can I be told when new jobs match what I want?
Yes. Set your filters on Job Vacancies — a role, a town, a sector — then choose “Save this search”. Give it a name and we’ll watch for fresh notices that fit, gathering any matches into one daily email. Manage your saved searches, and switch each one’s alerts on or off, under Notifications. Manage saved searches
How do I find remote or hybrid work?
Each notice says whether the role is on-site, remote or hybrid in its job summary, so you can see how it’s worked before you apply.
Why has a vacancy disappeared?
A notice comes down on its own once the closing date has passed, so everything you see is still open.

For Employers

How do I place a vacancy?
Sign in from the top-right menu, name your company once, then use Place a Vacancy. Your first notice can be live in minutes. Place a vacancy
Where do I manage my posts?
My Company holds your company profile and every vacancy you have placed. Edit a notice, close or reopen it, or remove it entirely from there. Go to My Company
Can I edit a vacancy after posting?
Yes. Open My Company, choose the vacancy and Edit — your changes show on the directory straight away.
How do I see and manage applicants?
Each of your vacancies shows an Applicants link in My Company. Open it to read every CV sent through the Directory and to move each application along its stage. Go to My Company
How do I keep an applicant updated?
On a vacancy’s applicants list, set each application’s status — Received, Under review, Shortlisted, Interview, Offer or Not selected. The applicant sees the change on their own account, so there’s no need to email back and forth.
Can I say a role is remote or hybrid?
Yes. When you place or edit a vacancy, choose a work location — on-site, remote or hybrid — and it shows in the job summary for applicants.
How do I update my company details?
From My Company choose Edit company to change your name, website, logo and description. It updates everywhere your name appears.
What are Headline Vacancies?
Featured notices take top billing on the front page. Featuring is an editorial placement for now, and becomes an optional paid upgrade once pricing goes live.
